Excerpt:
I am going to give you very few details about my life and the things that happened to me, because I do not want to hurt the people involved. I will tell you though that while I never attempted suicide, I thought about it day and night. Life was that bad. There were times that I would not go to bed at night because I knew I would have to get up again. There were times that I would sleep all day every day to avoid living my life.
**********************************
I must brag a bit on my Lord. Last night I did not want to go to bed, because I did not want the day to end! This morning, I am happy to have another one! This is a new concept for me, but that is exactly what Jesus does. He makes all things new!
Review
New Book, The Life Cycle, Names the Cure for Depression and Anxiety.
Depression impacts nearly 20 million American adults not to mention teenagers and children. It is one of the leading causes of disability in the United States. The US is considered a Christian nation, yet so sad and so depressed. Something is terribly wrong.
The new book, The Life Cycle, examines this debilitating disease from a Biblical perspective. The author, Denise Mistich, is not a doctor or a minister. She is a recovered victim of the disease, who literally traded 14 mind altering pills a day for God’s word and now lives a happy, productive life.
This healing process began when God literally called Mistich up from the floor with the profound words, “Get Up”. She responded and the journey he has taken her on since that day brought her the strength first to endure, then the state of well being she now resides in. The healing did not come easily. There was work to be done. God took this particular "patient" all the way to Africa to teach her the truth about Him. After such a remarkable journey, both literally and figuratively, she now proclaims “A relationship with God is mind altering enough, without pills.”
Mistich takes a look at the Biblical causes for depression in both, the believer and non-believer’s lives then outlines the steps and scriptures that led her to a state of well being. The methodology behind this study guide is truth; about God and self. It is not about self-help, it is about letting Him help you. Mistich offers little fluff in this guide, but shares her personal testimony about the changes that God brought into her life and how he helped her up and out. She recommends first and foremost that you get your answers directly from the Bible and through prayer. The Life Cycle is only a guide.
