Excerpt:
I am going to give you very few details about my life and the things that happened to me, because I do not want to hurt the people involved. I will tell you though that while I never attempted suicide, I thought about it day and night. Life was that bad. There were times that I would not go to bed at night because I knew I would have to get up again. There were times that I would sleep all day every day to avoid living my life.
**********************************
I must brag a bit on my Lord. Last night I did not want to go to bed, because I did not want the day to end! This morning, I am happy to have another one! This is a new concept for me, but that is exactly what Jesus does. He makes all things new!
Review
New Book, The Life Cycle, Names the Cure for Depression and Anxiety.
Depression impacts nearly 20 million American adults not to mention teenagers and children. It is one of the leading causes of disability in the United States. The US is considered a Christian nation, yet so sad and so depressed. Something is terribly wrong.
The new book, The Life Cycle, examines this debilitating disease from a Biblical perspective. The author, Denise Mistich, is not a doctor or a minister. She is a recovered victim of the disease, who literally traded 14 mind altering pills a day for God’s word and now lives a happy, productive life.
This healing process began when God literally called Mistich up from the floor with the profound words, “Get Up”. She responded and the journey he has taken her on since that day brought her the strength first to endure, then the state of well being she now resides in. The healing did not come easily. There was work to be done. God took this particular "patient" all the way to Africa to teach her the truth about Him. After such a remarkable journey, both literally and figuratively, she now proclaims “A relationship with God is mind altering enough, without pills.”
Mistich takes a look at the Biblical causes for depression in both, the believer and non-believer’s lives then outlines the steps and scriptures that led her to a state of well being. The methodology behind this study guide is truth; about God and self. It is not about self-help, it is about letting Him help you. Mistich offers little fluff in this guide, but shares her personal testimony about the changes that God brought into her life and how he helped her up and out. She recommends first and foremost that you get your answers directly from the Bible and through prayer. The Life Cycle is only a guide.

Christian Financial Freedom
By Terry Dean
There are several ways you can look at this scripture. The first is that if you delight yourself in the Lord, God will answer your prayers and give you what you’ve been desiring. I believe that, but also look at something else it is saying to us. If you delight yourself in the Lord, he will give you the desires of your heart. He will put those desires in you.
If you’re focused on Him first and have put Him first in your life, then the desires in your heart also come from Him. If it your heart’s desire to go to college to become a doctor, then that desire has been placed there by God. If your heart’s desire is to own real estate, then you know where you should be focusing your attention. If your heart’s desire is to start a business, then He is the one who put that desire in you.
Starting a business can be a risky venture, so a lot of people go through life living way below their purpose because of fear. You’ll have to step out of your comfort zone. You’ll have to spend time learning all the aspects of business. You’ll have to put money at risk to study, research, and find people who can work with you. It is not always easy. There are millions of Christians who go through their whole life working a mediocre job knowing there is something greater for them. They get up and go to work day after day…while their heart cries out for something more. You can have so much more. You can complete your calling. If you haven’t already started, then use this book as your kick in the seat of your pants to get you moving.
Make a decision today you won’t just do what is most comfortable. You’re going to step up to your next level in life. It is time for God’s champions to come forth. It is time for people who love God to start taking action in the business world. For too long the church has looked at pastors and evangelists as being the only ones with a special calling from God. This is wrong!
People who are “in the ministry” are simply those who are called to teach others in the church. Most real ministry takes place outside of the four church walls. You are called of God as one of his ministers. A Christian business person is a calling. It is a ministry. You may be the only Jesus people around you ever see. We are called to be the light of the world, and we shouldn’t be hiding our lights in the church building. Be someone who really cares about your customers. Be someone who has integrity in business. Be someone that other people can look up to and look forward to doing business with. Christian business people who let their lights shine in the marketplace are God’s champions.
My prayer is to raise up new champions for God. Be a champion. Step out into the marketplace and become what you’ve been created to be. You have talents and skills God has put in you, and you need to be using them. There is a business out there waiting for you that only you can do. Don’t live life in fear…but step out of the boat like Peter and be one of God’s champions.
Continually put God first in your life and obey His Word. Seek God and let Him guide you. He may give you new ideas in the company you work for which greatly increase their profits. You may get profit sharing on those ideas. You may have a desire to start your own Internet business like I did. You may want to start a baking company. You may want to start a cleaning business. You may want to buy land or houses. You may study books on stock investing. You may learn about commodity investing. You may go back to college.
I can’t tell you His plans for you, but I can tell you a few principles about His plans. His plan will always be too big for you. They don’t just come Super-sized. They come in God-size.
God is not against His people having money. He has never been against it in spite of what you may have heard many preachers say. He is against money having them and ruling their lives. Remember this. Money is a great servant, but it is a horrible master.
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
You are to be seeking first the kingdom of God and then God promises that all these “things” will be added unto you. What kind of things is he talking about? He’s talking about all the things the Gentiles seek! He is talking about food, drink, clothing, and all the other things the Gentiles are seeking. He has promised to take care of you as long as you put His kingdom first place in your life.
God has always taken care of His chosen people as long as they put Him first in their lives. The Bible is full of examples we can go to and show God’s will for our lives and the wealth He desires to provide for us. Notice I used the term wealth. He doesn’t desire to just give us enough to get barely by. He desires to take abundant care of us if we let Him.
Throughout the Old Testament God often used the name of El Shaddai for Himself…“The God Who Is More Than Enough.” He never called himself “El Cheapo” or “The God of Barely Getting By.” He is the God of MORE than enough. He is the God of Too Much.
“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”
He wants to prepare a feast for us in the presence of our enemies. You may have heard that refers to heaven, but it can’t. You don’t have any enemies in heaven. Your enemies are here including Satan and his demons. God wants to provide you with a feast right in front of them where they can see you.
Even better, God says that “my cup runneth over.” In other words, God wants to fill up your cup and just keep right on pouring. Take a glass out of your cupboard. Put it on the counter and start pouring water into it. Pour it right to the top and keep right on pouring. You’ll make a mess all over the place. It will pour all over the counter and start dripping onto the floor. That is how God wants to bless you. He wants to bless you so much that it fills up everything you can take and it starts pouring all over everyone around you.
Let’s give another example to show you this isn’t an isolated incident. It is God’s way of doing things.
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
God is promising to pour out a blessing that there is not enough room to receive it all. Does that sound like God wants to provide you with just enough to barely get by? No way! He wants to provide you with way more than enough. He wants to give you abundance so you have more than enough to share with and meet the needs of all those around you.
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or even think. And if you’re like me, you can think about a lot! God says He can do more than you can even think. So you can’t outthink God for your life. His plan for you is already bigger than you can imagine. It is bigger than you can conceive of right now.
“Exceeding” means, “over, above, beyond, very chiefest, exceeding.” “Abundantly above” is “huperekchuno” in the Greek and means, “to pour out over, overflow.” God wants to go beyond overflowing your cup in this verse. In the Old Testament God wanted to provide overflowing blessings to His people. Now in our New Covenant God wants to go exceedingly beyond overflowing your cup!
We are in a New Covenant that God has established upon better promises than the Old Covenant. God wants to go far beyond what He did for His Old Testament saints for you. There is only one problem…Ephesians 3:20 above says,“it is according to the power that works in US.” It is up to us to let Him work. God is limited to what you allow Him to do in your life.
Let’s take that one step further. God is limited to what you allow Him to do THROUGH you. You are His hands on this earth. He is limited to what you allow Him to do through you as His hands.
That is the key. God wants to bless you exceedingly abundantly to more than overflowing, but He is limited in your life by what you allow Him to do through you. He does not work apart from you. Jesus is the head of the church and we are the body. The head does not accomplish anything without the body taking action. The head gives direction and the body follows that direction.
What if your own natural body decided it didn’t want to listen to the head anymore? What if you woke up one morning and told your body to get out of bed, but it decided it was on strike and wasn’t going to listen anymore. You’d be stuck there paralyzed. Well, that is where much of the church world has been. God has given directions about our finances, but we haven’t been paying attention and have been laying there paralyzed.

My Sheep Hear My Voice
Have you ever wondered how you can hear GOD?
This book is written to show and teach to the Christian community the importance of hearing directly from the throne of God.
“I have spent over 10 years hearing from the throne of God and executing my every move from his guidance and have been having a fantastic time with the Lord. All his instructions to me bring me peace, joy and success.”
Joseph Ho
This book shows that God will speak to us in the following ways:
“Hearing the voice of God is so fundamental in our Christian life and yet many Christians claimed that they do not know how to hear God. In his book, Joseph Ho has captured the very essence of hearing God and made it seem so simple. I was enthralled by the fact in which Joseph declares that unless you forgive your earthly father, your heavenly father can not forgive you. This book will be very encouraging for people who want to have more intimacy with God and it is a book worth reading.” |
